    Plastic wastes present formidable problems as they are not biodegradable, are bulky and can resist incineration. Incineration in fact may not be possible due to production of noxious or toxic fumes. Inadequate levels of recycling aggravate the waste problem. In a world where plastic production may, in a decade, reach over 60 million metric tons per year, plastic waste is a major loss of an important commodity. This is why we shouldn't be using plastic water bottles. Jenny

    Plastic waste is really bad for our community. Also for plactic bottles take 700 years to begin composting. Used plactic that gets dumped into the ocean kills and destroys sea life.

    It was proven in studies that botteled water is not better than tap water but will just be more expensive.

    If you look at some of the pictures of the plastic waste in the ocean it is really depressing. It is even worse to know that we as a community, country and world are doing this to our earth! We have to find a way to stop this.

    I took a look at some of the pictures Addie. One picture you couldnt even see the water and it looked like the man was conoeing on garbage. Awful. I think this campaign is one thats can be very very helpful to our earth. Keep it up!

    From what i've read 25 percent or more of botteled water is really just tap water.

    Yes and did you know that aquafina just takes the water that they use for pepsi(regular tap water)and then sell it for twice as much because "it's pepsi water". It is truley just a whole load of boloney.

    Also the plastic waste campaign would relate to the MDG for plastic waste sustainability. But I think when we come back from school we should start collecting plastic then after the month show them.

    But after we announce to the school what do you think we should do after? Do you think that maybe like Ms.Rambaran said she could order water bottles for us? Also do you think that after maybe a couple months we should still collect water bottles and see if our message got through(they are not using as much)?

    I agree with you Christine, i think that we should still collect bottles because everybody is asking "why do you need the bottles" when we collect them and then after we tell them why, we should still collect bottles to see if the message was clear and we are hoping that we can reduce the amount of plastic bottles. I also really like the fact that you have said that most of the water you buy is just basically tap water, all your doing is paying more, I think it will amaze alot of people. Reduce, reuse, recycle!
