218 million children around the world work as child labourers. Also 126 million of them work in hazardous conditions: in mine fields, with chemicals and pesticides, with explosives and with dangerous machinery.

Child labour involves:
ReplyDelete•Work performed by children under the age of 18 (depending on the country)
•Long hours of work on a regular or full-time basis
•Abusive treatment by the employer
•No access, or poor access, to education

Every year, 22,000 children die from accidents related to their work. And that doesn't say anything about the mental and emotional harm of being forced to work long, hard hours or experiencing things that no person should.
ReplyDeleteThis really made me think long about children in other countries who have to experience this horable labour! Once we have all of our research we need to come together one lunch or afterschool to put together a presentation.

Child Labour is mostly caused because of poverty. Most of the struggling familys have nothing at all so because of that they need to sell there chilren to child labourers and they make them work. If all of our donations go to the struggling familys then they wont have to sell there children to do child labour.

The Cambodia Child Labour Survey estimated that there were

44.8% of children in this age group. More boys than girls in the age groups 5-9 years old,
10-14 years old are working children.

The number of children involved in armed conflicts has increased to about 300,000 over the past decade.
