I want to congratulate all of you on a very successful meeting today with your fellow classmates.Today as a leadership group you empowered the community with information about taking global action and making a difference. Together as a school community we will stand in solidarity to represent the silence of others in the world.
As a leadership group you showed committment and teamwork to implement your first intiative in a very short amount of time. Thank you for committing to all the lunch time meeting and out of school research time because of all your hard work and drive I know that the Vow of Silence will be a success...Congratulations!
Congratulations everyone as you are embarked on a journey and steering you own course to acheive a common goal: building awareness in our school community. I am truly looking forward to this years Vow of Silence. Thanks to your commitment, passion and leadership your message is on the minds of everyone at McMurrich, as students are practicing how they will be silent on Friday for as long as they can. Alexx, Zoe and Christine, the three of you represented the BTC Student Committee with pride and dignity as you spoke to the staff and students at a brief Primary assembly, followed by the Junior assembly in Room 204 on Tuesday. Hearing the message from peers allows for students to make a stronger connection to the challenge set out for them. The short video clips promoting the Vow of Silence provided a nice blend of media to support your presentation. You have all already have accomplished so much in such a short period of time. Don't lose steam, your hardwork and dedication is paying off as you are truly effective and passionate student leaders. Ms. T
ReplyDeleteMs. Tavares I completely agree with you... Zoe, Christine and Alexx represented the BTC committe and had the attention of both divisions. I know that the grade 2's are excited about taking the Vow tomorrow. As a team you worked together to become informed so that you could educate the rest of the school on standing together in solidarity. Your message of change, dedication and passion is contagious!
